UK Bluesquare Colocation

To celebrate our move to Bluesquare datacentre, Maidenhead, we currently have the following offer on shared co-location, hosted in our secure private suite.

1U rackspace
0.5amps power
1mbit bandwidth
APC remote reboot port
20 minutes 'intelligent hands' per month (basic troubleshooting, formats etc)
20 minutes, KVM over IP access per month
5 IP addresses
Support from onsite INX staff (we operate our own offices onsite).

Only £39.99 per month + VAT!
FREE setup on first 30 orders.

Why co-locate your server with INX?

With each machine, you are given 20 minutes 'intelligent hands' time per month. You can use this for basic troubleshooting, changing of your machine's RAM / hard disks. Additional blocks of 20 minutes are £9.99 + VAT during office hours, and £19.99 + VAT out of office hours.

We have staff, in onsite offices (thus 30 seconds walk to the datafloor) 9am-9pm, Monday - Friday, 12pm-6pm Saturday. Out of hours we have an engineer on 24/7 call, a maximum 20 minutes from the datacentre. During office hours, we have a helpdesk and phone. Out of hours, you will be able to each us via phone, thus 24/7 phone support. Over time (6-12 months), we are planning to add more onsite staff, in order to have engineers, onsite 24/7. We feel this is a very strong point to our company, as the majority of co-location providers are based hours away from their facilities, often having resold racks, where they have to arrange access to get into the datacentre. As we've grown, we've experienced this first hand. Having our onsite onsite during office hours, and on call, only down the road 24/7, allows us to respond rapidly when you need help, and you need it fast.

Hurry, we're already filling this allocation and at this low price it will go quick.

Please email sales@inx-gaming.co.uk for further information.

Download core

Download Core is a service provided exclusively to iNX-Gaming customers*. Download Core enables high-speed file downloads (maps, sounds, etc.) for gamers when they are connecting to a gameserver. When downloading a custom map, gamers are often left waiting for several minutes for the map to slowly download off of the gameserver before they can get fragging. Not anymore! With Download Core enabled on your gameserver, files (be it maps or sounds) are downloaded at lightening fast speeds from high-speed content servers on the iNX-Network. Download Core utilises the power of sv_downloadurl, which is a part of the gameserver that allows file downloads from a server other than the one running the game.

Please click "Download Core" on the website menu for more information.

Steam Updates!

Another update from steam has been released.

Many fixes to the steam client, the release of the new friends beta system and a couple of big fixes for both the Half-life 1 and the Source engines.

Updates to the Steam Client have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Steam Client

    * You can now join the Friends Beta via the Friends button inside of Steam.
    * The Steam hardware survey has been updated, with improved detection of graphics card hardware and sound card detection. Results are available here
    * Added System information help menu option which shows the hardware information detected for the survey
    * Fixed offline mode not working for users who account names that are all digits with leading zeros
    * Fixed actively preloading games showing as paused in the mini-games list
    * Fixed case where store page could become stuck displaying 'loading...' and never show a page

Source & Half-Life 1 Engine

    * Enabled Friends beta
    * Fixed several cases where the server browser would not correctly handle filtering of mods

Source Engine

    * Improved filesystem throughput - this fixes a bunch of stutter reports in Half-Life 2

Counter-Strike

    * Fixed menuselect 10 exploit allowing players to spawn into game in spectator mode

Your server will NOT need updating for this release as it's a client-side only update.
